
Molteni Mondo: An Italian Design Story

In 2024, Molteni&C celebrates 90 years of innovation, design, industry, and corporate culture with a book, “Molteni Mondo. An Italian Design Story”, the first monograph dedicated to the identity, history, and values of the company founded in Giussano in 1934 by Angelo and Giuseppina Molteni.
Molteni Mondo is also a connecting platform: words and images, actions of doing, projects of architects and designers, the looks of artists, the choice of raw materials, services, strategies, reputation, customer appreciation, the centrality of human capital, process sustainability, digital and technological innovation, social responsibility. Always with the magnificent obsession of Quality.
“In 2024, our company celebrates its ninetieth year of activity. Studying its history, werealized that it coincides with the history of Italian design. It begins in 1955 in Brianza with the first Selettiva di Cantù, also promoted by my father Angelo – an exhibition that had architects of the caliber of Gio Ponti, Alvar Aalto, and Carlo De Carli on the jury, spreading knowledge of design in the area. In this important year, we want to share our goal for the future: spreading the culture of quality living throughout the world” (Carlo Molteni, President of the Molteni Group).

At the center is the representation of a world of objects and thoughts, ambitions, and imperfections. There is the responsibility of knowing how to do and how to be.
The great protagonists of design and architecture have always played a fundamental role in the innovation processes, in promoting the culture of living, and in creating timeless products, interpretating the social changes, such as the new collaborations with Herzog & de Meuron, Naoto Fukasawa, Yabu Pushelberg. And the new collections, Outdoor since 2023 and Kitchens Dada Engineered, celebrating the Italian excellence of outdoor living and proposing infinitely customizable solutions.
Molteni&C’s new flagship store is located on Avenida da Liberdade, Lisbon’s main avenue, known for its luxury stores and charming style that reflects classic 19th century Portuguese architecture.
Spanning almost 400 square meters, the store covers two floors, including living, kitchen and dining areas that immerse visitors in Molteni&C’s timeless Italian style.
This flagship store is a conceptual celebration, an ode to the protagonists of the world of architecture. Within the walls of the store are works by great masters and designers of cities, spaces, interiors and furniture, such as Vincent Van Duysen, Naoto Fukasawa and Rodolfo Dordoni, among others. In line with Molteni&C’s philosophy, the space exudes the idea of a warm, comforting and inviting home, but one that also evolves with the times.
