The concept is simple, but the execution is innovative. By pointing the camera of the cell phone at the QR code placed next to each statue, visitors are surprised by a phone call from the portrayed.

This project encompasses 22 statues throughout the parish of Santo Antonio, mostly located on Avenida da Liberdade, each with the voice of an artist “talking” to the visitor.

Among the voices selected to bring these statues to life are names well-known to the Portuguese public such as: Herman José; Júlio Isidro; David Fonseca; Marina Mota; Fernando Mendes; António Raminhos; Fernando Rocha: Nilton; Carlos Cunha; Ricardo Carriço; Guilherme Filipe; Joana Cruz; Joana Cruz; João Frizza; José Raposo; Ricardo Castro; Bruna Andrade; Luís Lourenço; Simão Morgado; Jorge Mourato;José Pedro Vasconcelos; Filipa Veiga; Afonso Pimentel; Diogo Branco; Vasco Morgado.

The historical accuracy of the written content is ensured by the National Culture Center, while the humor is added by Nilton through his texts, guaranteeing an informative and entertaining experience.

The presentation ceremony was attended by the President of the Lisbon City Council, Carlos Moedas, various entities, the media, the “voices” responsible for bringing the statues to life, and the parishioners of Santo António.

The President of the Parish of Santo António, Vasco Morgado, expressed his satisfaction with this initiative, considering it “an honor” to put “great figures of history” in direct dialogue with the parishioners and visitors.

The President of the Lisbon City Council, Carlos Moedas, stressed the importance of putting “culture at the forefront”.

The unparalleled project not only invites locals and visitors to explore the 22 statues located in the parish of Santo Antonio, but also redefines public interaction with the national historical heritage.

The “History With a Voice” project is an original initiative that contributes to the dissemination and preservation of the parish´s historical heritage.

This opens up a window to the past in an innovative fusion of culture, technology and entertainment.
