During Lisbon Design Week 2026, Servant hosted the presentation of Alma Mater, a limited-edition functional art collection designed by Arianna Bavuso, founder of AB+AC Architects, at the Molteni&C Flagship Store on Avenida da Liberdade.

Based in Lisbon, AB+AC Architects is a multidisciplinary studio working at the intersection of architecture, well-being, and neuro-architectural research. With Alma Mater, the studio transforms everyday gestures into conscious rituals, proposing a new way of inhabiting the domestic space.

More than objects, the pieces function as spatial devices. Each one is conceived to influence posture, breath, light, and perception, activating a more attentive relationship between body and environment. The collection stems from the belief that if a space can generate tension, it can also foster regulation and balance.

Produced in stainless steel, hand-chiselled beeswax, and cork, the works explore the tension between strength and delicacy, permanence and ephemerality. The steel introduces structure and precision, while beeswax and cork bring warmth, tactility, scent, and a sense of organic transformation. Together, these materials create a multisensorial experience that invites deceleration.

Presented within the refined architectural setting of the Molteni&C Lisbon Flagship Store, Alma Mater enters into dialogue with the brandʼs language of proportion, material excellence, and contemporary domesticity. The collection expands the idea of furniture and functional art beyond use, approaching the home as a place of sensory awareness, emotional regulation, and quiet ritual.

For Arianna Bavuso, the project reflects a broader investigation into the relationship between space and the nervous system. Through form, materiality, and gesture, Alma Mater invites the body to slow down and return to a more conscious rhythm of inhabiting.
