AVENIDA CONVIDA returns with new talks about Lisbon and Avenida da Liberdade

AVENIDA CONVIDA returns in March with new talks dedicated to Lisbon and Avenida da Liberdade, inviting all those who are passionate about the city, to discover, through distinguished speakers, surprising stories.
These Talks will once again, be hosted by three emblematic cultural venues in Lisbon: the National Society of Fine Arts (SNBA), Buchholz Bookstore, and the Medeiros e Almeida Museum. With a programme running throughout March, these three venues will share their deep knowledge of Lisbon and Avenida da Liberdade, reviving memories and revisiting places and personalities that will make us feel part of the history of such a special place.
The topics are truly captivating! On March 12, the SNBA brings together Fine Arts professors and artists to present “125 Years of National Society Of Fine Arts.” On March 16, Buchholz Bookstore revisits the vibrant nightlife that once animated the capital in a retrospective from the 1920s in “Night in Lisbon, from Avenida da Liberdade Onwards,” a gathering featuring researchers, book authors, and even a legendary figure of Lisbon’s night scene.
AVENIDA CONVIDA concludes in big style at the Medeiros e Almeida Museum on March 26 with the talk “Avenida da Liberdade – History and Perspectives,” featuring a distinguished art historian.
The initiative is organized by the Avenida Association, which remains committed to encouraging its members to participate in free-admission events, allowing the public to discover and enjoy all that Avenida da Liberdade has to offer. With their usual generosity, the cultural members have shown their creativity and developed a programme featuring an outstanding group of speakers, including historians, art curators, specialists, visual artists, and writers, who, with their rich knowledge, will make this second edition of AVENIDA CONVIDA an unforgettable event.
